Oslo Imam attacked – seriously injured
The Imam of Norway’s largest mosque, in central Oslo, has been attacked and seriously injured by a masked man outside his home late Monday evening.
The attacker reportedly used a small axe in the attack, and the Imam, in his 60s was brought to hospital and operated on, and was Tuesday morning in stable condition, according to police.
A large police force, assisted by dogs and a helicopter, are now hunting the attacker. A number of witnesses have stepped forth, and the police are also examining video pictures from surveillance cameras in the area.
